About
Life’s A Bish Records is the independent label founded by legendary singer-songwriter Stephen Bishop. Born from a desire to create a better path for the next generation of artists. With a career that’s spanned five decades, Stephen has released albums on nearly every major label in the industry. But after pouring six figures of his own money into his final album, THIMK, and turning down offers from major labels that demanded control of his masters, he decided it was time to rewrite the rules.

Life’s A Bish Records is about ownership, integrity, and artistic freedom. The label’s name is a nod to Stephen’s longtime nickname “Bish” and reflects both his sense of humor and his passion for discovering new talent. Now, with nothing left to prove and everything to give, Stephen is using his experience and resources to support emerging artists on their own terms—empowering them to keep what they create and stay true to their vision.
This isn’t just a record label—it’s a legacy.

After five decades of writing, recording, and performing, Stephen Bishop closes this extraordinary chapter with his 20th and final studio album: THIMK — a heartfelt celebration of friendship, music, and gratitude to the people who’ve supported him along the way.

A Personal Note from Stephen
"THIMK is not just a musical sendoff—it’s a love letter to my fans, collaborators, and a life devoted to song. Thank you for listening, supporting me, and being part of this long, wonderful ride."
Love and Sunshine,
Stephen Bishop

The Story Behind the Name
Pronounced just like “think,” but with an M—THIMK is a nod to the quirky and unexpected. In the 1980s, Stephen stumbled upon a novelty pin with the word “THIMK” on it. As a collector of eccentric items, the pin made a lasting impression. For years, he considered using it as an album title but hesitated, thinking it might be too unusual.

Years later, Stephen’s wife rediscovered the pin. They both felt it captured his spirit—funny, quirky, and thought-provoking. At last, the time felt right. Interestingly, the word THIMK also appears in the film Taxi Driver.
